From our founder
It started with a question: Why do we expect less outside?
I never imagined I'd start a furniture company. I was simply looking for outdoor seating that was genuinely comfortable—something my 6'5" husband could actually enjoy. I asked everyone I knew and tried one option after another, convinced someone had already solved the problem.
No one could tell me they'd found anything they truly loved. And the more I looked, the more I saw the same compromises: chairs that sat too low, felt too rigid, were awkward to live with, or simply weren't designed with our bodies in mind.
Common Tiger was created to answer that question.

What we believe
Good design has the power to reshape the experiences we've learned to accept.
We set out to do more than improve what already existed. We studied what wasn't working and questioned the assumptions outdoor seating had been built around.
Why should an outdoor chair have a straight back when the seats we find most comfortable are shaped to support the body? Why shouldn't a seat move with us—from terrace to table, park to patio? Why should wear mean replacement?
We partnered with Alquemy, an award-winning industrial design team that shares our belief in starting with the human experience. Together, we challenged those assumptions one by one, applying design and engineering principles to find solutions.
How it's made
The difference is in the details.
Over four years, The Daymaker moved through countless concepts, sketches, and prototypes. We considered—and reconsidered—every angle, proportion, material, and mechanism. We tested rigorously and refined continuously, measuring each decision by its impact on the user experience. Nothing was added without purpose. Every detail had to earn its place.
